Sun Destinations Chacma Bush Camp accommodation.

535
This luxurious family chalet was to be my accommodation for the duration of my stay at Chacma Bush Camp.

Although I have visited this camp on 3 previous occasions, I have not stayed in this family unit. Therefore, it was the first time that I noticed this beautifully carved buffalo in a tree near the verandah entrance.

The welcoming verandah, should you wish to sit outside and watch the passing parade without joining the rest of the guests in this intimate luxury camp.

Close enough to join them should you wish, yet far away enough to afford the privacy you might wish for.

Because of its size, the camp lends itself to single-use occupation, where friends or families can have the camp and its facilities to themselves.

From the verandah, looking out towards the pool in the centre, the recently refurbished dining area is obscured by the trees, and the existing dining area is on the right.

The stunning main bedroom is built into the base of the koppie.

The luxury accommodation even included a compact preparation area with a bar fridge, just in case.

Not that guests would be required to make their own food, as the camp kitchen provides breakfast, lunch, high tea, and dinner!

The bathroom has been upgraded and can be accessed from the main area of the accommodation.

There is a toilet to the left and this interesting basin, the size of which I have not seen before.

A shadow of itself?

The outdoor shower can be used irrespective of the weather or the temperature.

This area includes a kettle, a mini fridge, a sink, and a supply of coffee and tea.

On this trip, I had, as usual, brought snacks along, but believe it or not, I only ate them once I returned home.

I had to ask for half portions as the food portions were more than generous.

Pace yourself was a good mantra.

This area is more than spacious and adds to the comfort of those who need to stay together.

Seeing that this was a working trip for me, the desk on the left was most useful as it had both a lamp and an electrical outlet close by.

I was at the camp for 3 nights and was about to try a different bed each night, but I quickly realised that housekeeping would NOT be happy with that.

If the mattress on the main bed was the benchmark, then I do not doubt that these would be equally comfortable.

The camp gardens are filled with succulents that make for an easy-to-maintain landscape setup.

The verandah at night, as I walked back from dinner.

A safari is not complete unless you spend time under a mosquito net.

Why is a mosquito net such an iconic part of a safari holiday? Perhaps this will answer that question…

Imagine embarking on an adventurous safari holiday, where your days are filled with the sights and sounds of the African wilderness, and your nights are serenaded by the gentle calls of nature.

You return from dinner to find your bed swathed in the unsung hero of your bush experience…a mosquito net.

This iconic accessory transforms your bed into a bug-free haven, allowing you to drift off to dreamland without worrying about pesky mosquitoes trying to enjoy your midnight snack! Like a magical curtain, the net keeps those tiny foes at bay while still letting in the soothing sounds of the bushveld.

A mosquito net will ensure that your safari memories are filled with adventure, not itchy bites!

Chacma was between two large groups that filled the camp, however, I was the only guest in the camp at the time and therefore had the full attention of all the staff!

Luan, Alex, Nichole, Edward and Trent, thank you for making my stay awesome.
