Several shades of grey?

“Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up, it knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.” Christopher McDougall, Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen.

Seeing that I am currently in the bush…again…with limited connectivity, I thought that I would just post some images from a recent trip. The subjects speak for themselves…Hunkered down to get up close and personal with this male rhino.

A vervet monkey in a meditative mood. This fellow, together with the rest of his family kept me out of my accommodation for several minutes as they were camped out on the verandah and I did not want to get into an altercation. I just left them until they wandered off of their own accord.

Hiding in the bushes, a Buffalo watches us as we drive past…

Nothing to see here…except the tree!

A peaceful pachyderm plods on by…

In soft focus, on purpose.

Lunch is served…tons of it. A female White Rhino enjoys a snack.

Together with zebra, giraffes are fast becoming firm favourites with international tourists.
