Read about my ongoing fight with myself…
With the first trip of 2019 almost upon me,

Where we stayed was in the heart of “Jungle Book” territory.
Where the Pench National Park is situated currently
is where Rudyard Kipling called home and
it is where the idea for his iconic book was born,
And if you are looking for the best “tiger whisperer,
then book  Omveer Choudhary as your guide!
We were able to find tigers on every game drive that we did with him
And when we did not find tigers, we found a leopard.

If it is leopards you are after,

No camp can actually guarantee a sighting of these elusive predators,

There are several camps on in this reserve.
This particular image was taken during a stay at Bush Lodge,
Another of the Big 5.
This time seen on a game drive from Selati Camp.

Although close to each other physically,
they are each individual in both their decor and their food offerings.
We got to spend our honeymoon at Hamiltions 11 years ago,

A new “tool” in my camera bag.
This locally made product was indispensable when using a long lens.
The ball and socket might look simple…and it is,
which is why it should be in the gear bag of every serious photographer.
This locally made, deceptively simple device is ideal
for tracking birds in flight or animals in motion.
The base can be used on a beanbag or a tripod,
with the ball being fitted to the camera.
The simplicity of the device allows to to move from supported
to hand held in a fluid motion.
There is also a version that can be used on a car window.
