Goobye to 2018 and HELLO to 2019.

1290

The final day of 2018 has arrived,
and the first day of 2019 beckons.
A blank page in a new diary, for me to fill with
a variety of different opportunities.
Was it a good or bad year for me?
At this moment I am undecided.

Voting closes today!
 I await the outcome
 with the same trepidation
that my matric results caused me back in 1970!

31st December is my Dad’s birthday.
He would have been 93,
but he left us in October, 14 years ago.
Gone but never forgotten.

Although it has been a tough year,
I have laughed in the face of adversity!
RIP Chaggy…
I lost my companion of 12 years

And gained a new one!
2018 ended with an unexpected stay in ICU for me followed by
a Cardioversion procedure to get my heart back into the correct rhythm.

I also made several decisions that will,
hopefully,come to fruition in 2019.
To quote from The Artists Way by Julia Cameron
“Leap and the net will appear”.
I leapt, and the net did appear.
Some of the time!
To all those who read my postings, many thanks.
I hope that I tweaked your wander lust in some way.
If you planning a trip to South Africa, and would like some advice,
especially when it comes to safari destinations,

I look towards 2019 with hope and enthusiasm.

They are probably the most comfortable pair of shoes
that I have ever owned.

A new “tool” in my camera bag.
This locally made product was indispensable when using a long lens.
The ball and socket might look simple…and it is,
which is why it should be in the gear bag of every serious photographer.
This locally made, deceptively simple device is ideal
for tracking birds in flight or animals in motion.
The base can be used on a beanbag or a tripod,
with the ball being fitted to the camera.
The simplicity of the device allows to to move from supported
to hand held in a fluid motion.
There is also a version that can be used on a car window.
