While on my recent coach tour of Croatia,
I entered into a “competition” with one of the other tour party members.
This is the image that started it off.
We both, independently of each other, took the almost identical picture.
Game on…who could find the most interesting stairs.
This is the short staircase to the synagogue in Split, Croatia.
One of the oldest in Europe, it was built in the 16th century.

The rules of engagement were that the stairs had to lead somewhere.

I wanted to “win” so badly that I often got up at 04h30
 in order to find another set
Some steps were longer than others…

I often wandered around in the back streets and alleys.
Seeing that the walled cities are relatively small,
it is almost impossible to get lost
I am not certain which is older…
the steps or the plant.

I never did discover what a privilege breakfast was.
