This was my accommodation on the first night of my stay at this awesome resort.
The suite is designed to utilized the space in the best possible way.
Unlike a lot of resort rooms I have stayed in,
I found this one to be a cut above the rest in both style and elegance.
The bathroom, with a proper bath!
Ergonomically laid out to make maximum use of the space,
without guests feeling confined or claustrophobic.
To the left, behind the bath is the shower and
next to the basins is the toilet.
The shower cubicle was bright and spacious.
It had both an overhead shower as well as a hand held version
This is what the accommodation block that I stayed in
looked like at night.
Intimate and almost sensuous, it certainly makes guests feel welcome.
Although I was travelling alone.
I do understand why island holidays are seen as romantic,
and this lighting enhances that emotion.
And this is the accommodation in the early morning light.
It was to be my final look at this part of the resort.
I was going out on an all day Reef Safari, and while I was gone,
the staff moved me into new accommodation.
But I was only to find out where when I returned in the late afternoon.
This was my new front door…
And what lay behind it was totally unexpected.
My very own Villa…
With my very own pool!
And not one, but two bicycles…
And this was just the beginning of what I was to discover in this truly spectacular accommodation.
No loud electronic sound to get your attention
when there is someone at the front door.
The discrete tinkling of this bell is enough to attract attention.
This is what the Villa looked like, when seen from the beach side.
Only one night here was DEFINITELY not enough time
to fully appreciate all the amenities that it had to offer.

Why did the hotel chain have to design their own TV remote?
Perhaps the guests were “removing” the regular ones?
The outdoor lounge in the late afternoon light.
This relaxation area is at the one end of the pool and adjacent to the entrance of the living quarters.
And part of that same area at night.
Intimate and welcoming.
The bedroom.
A really comfortable bed with a desk behind the headboard.
And the view from the bed, is of the ocean.
Much better than what was on offer on TV.
It was great to get to soak in a full sized bath!
There are two basins in the bathroom,
one on either side of the doorway.
There is also a full sized shower cubicle and toilet
just around the corner.
And if that was not enough, there is a walk in dressing area
with PLENTY of closet space.
If you are up to it, this outdoor shower makes one feel connected to nature.
Or perhaps, like me, you just enjoy a shower in the open.
The last time I had a “towel animal” on my bed,
was on a cruise liner.
This elephant was a welcome companion for my last night on Mahe.
“A magical place to revive your senses”.
So says their advertising,
and it CERTAINLY is.
My sojourn here was the highlight of the time I spent in Seychelles.
But be ‘warned’, two nights is not nearly enough to fully appreciate
all the amenities or the food variations that they offer.
A longer stay is DEFINITELY required!
In order to get around on the main island,
I used Gilly Mein.
I can highly recommend him as both a driver and a guide.
His knowledge and passion for the Seychelles and its history
made for some interesting in-car conversations.
