And vote for “Travel & Things”…

Some of my favourite images in monochrome
from my recent trip…
One of the most dangerous of all the “Big 5”,
the African Buffalo.
Although they often move in vast herds,
they can often be the most elusive to find.

A favourite predator of mine.
They can be difficult to find,
but if you go to the right reserve they literally fall out of the trees!
Sabi Sand is one such area.

Often game drives are not for the faint-hearted.
This tiny Steenbok was a “snack” for the pack.
And then the remains became a play toy

Certainly the largest male leopard I have seen to date.
The scars on his face could be from territorial issues…
or matters of the heart.

I have never quite understood why the Lion has been given the title of
“King of the Jungle”
as Africa is somewhat devoid of actual “jungles”.

One of the newer leopards in Sabi Sand reserve.
Not quite used to game drive vehicles as yet

My contender for “King of the Jungle”…
the African Elephant.

One of the most beautiful of all the plains game.
The Burchell’s Zebra.

And to round off the “Big 5”
A pair of White Rhino…

A quartet of Vultures,
waiting for their turn at the carcass.

The death of one,
becomes a food source for many.
Such is life in the African bush.
