I agree with the sentiment,
but not the spelling.

What were the designers of the Battle of Bergendal thinking.
This looks more like a Triffid from “War of the Worlds”,
than a memorial to fallen soldiers in a Boer War battle.Photo:
After having spent four days with leopards and lions in Sabi Sand,
it was strange to come across this Emu,a native Australian bird,
near Barberton!
It, together with 5 others were given to the landowner to settle a debt.Photo:

On the same property is this family cemetery.
The one grave has major historical significance.

This was where I spent the final night of my journey.

A sort of “selfie”, squeezed in the back of one of the #safariLive camera vehicles.
I had been warned that it might be uncomfortable,
but I did manage to keep out of the way of the cameraman.
My experience here has been the highlight of 2016 for me.

This is what I was watching so intensely.

One of my favourite images from my time in
Final Control at the Wild Earth camp.

At least I did not find any snakes or scorpions under, on in my bed!

You have to admire this entrepreneur.
Upholstery, tailoring AND a barber shop.

The Hog Pub and Grill in Machadodorp.
I have visited on a couple of occasions and I do enjoy the food
and the ambience.

I even managed to get in a run while on the road.
This was my final road trip for 2016.

GammaTek is my powerbank supplier of choice.
One of my problems is often lack of battery power
if I have been using the camera on my phone.
I have tried many “powerbanks”,
but the majority drain before they can fully recharge my device.
This is where this Powerbank has the edge…
it can recharge my phone up to 7 times,
before it needs to be recharged.
