This is the first view that guests get of the reception area.
It is also the meeting point for morning and afternoon game drives.
What would a lodge be without a shop?
This was our second visit to idube,
and within minutes my wife had purchased
a shirt to replace the one that she bought 6 years ago.
Our accommodation.
Close enough to the main building,
but not too close to the neighbours.
If there is time (and if there are no leopards lying here)
then sitting on our own deck was a great way to welcome the dawn
or to bid the day farewell
Each room has a “full” bathroom,
which includes both an indoor and outdoor shower.
The view as I walked from our room to the main lodge building.
Although the area has been in the grip of a drought,
they recently had rain that turned the brown to green very quickly
This where we were served breakfast after morning game drive.
At the back of the bar area is the outdoor Boma dining area.
The bar can be easily accessed from both the dining area as well as the lounge
Seeing that Sabi Sand in summer is VERY hot,
this pool was MOST welcoming
Another seating area alongside the deck where lunch is served
Lunch is served buffet style…
It is really good and it does not take much encouragement
to get the guests to form a queue
This swing bridge links the buffet/ pool area to a hide.
A view from the hide…
Walking in after lunch. I watched a small herd of elephant
enjoying themselves in the water.
