The Ultimate You Challenge. Week 2

1557

Think on this:
What is holding YOU back?
We strive to go forward, but we are often stopped from
achieving our goals and aspirations.
Why?
Is it an internal “fight” or do external forces play a part in the
decisions that we make on a daily basis?
Do we turn right when the voice in our heads says
that left is the way forward?
It is our peers who will fail to be supportive,
because they want us to fail?
It it our parents, who are from a generation
that perhaps does not understand?
Or is it a combination of all of these factors?
If you are caught by a thorn and you struggle to get free,
you will only make it worse.
HOWEVER, if you take the time to actually assess the situation.
you will be able to free yourself and be able to move forward.

Well, not only on me…
as I find that training alone is not conducive to consistency.

This has been a tough week for me.
I was travelling again and although I did try to have healthy options,
on this front the week did NOT end well.
And from a training perspective,
I lacked direction and motivation.
Not every week can bring “excellent” results,
but what it can bring is the opportunity to do better
and to strive to achieve the goals that YOU have set.
But…it turns out that I have lost 1kg this week…
and that is my second goal achieved ahead of schedule.
I will have to re-assess the “challenges” that I set myself
when I started this journey.

There were two running highlights for me!
I ran a 30 minute 5km and
I ran a 10km (64 minutes) training run.
The former was a goal that I set to reach on June 1st,
so for that I am ahead of my own schedule
And the latter is a distance I have not run in more than a year.
So, not a total loss this week.
Accentuate the positives!

This is what I want to look like in my final challenge photograph…
BATZ BUDDIES will rise to the occasion.
And Dad (David) and Daughter(Jayne) join forces to support and encourage
each other (and the other teams) to do their best.
Jayne has been inspiring me and on several days this week we have exchanged
early morning emails about how I/we have been feeling.
As she settles into her training routine,
it has been of help to me to keep on track and NOT give up.
Jayne is working with this team
and from what I have seen on Facebook,
they are an incredibly supportive and motivated group.

Follow me as I tackle what might well be the toughest
fitness challenge I have volunteered for.
The challenge starts on May 16 and will run for 8 weeks.
