Although our arrival had been greeted by cloudless skies the day before,
I awoke to grey, overcast conditions.
This was the view that kept me from focusing on the work at hand…

THIS is the way to start a week…
Oysters for breakfast…there was champagne on offer as well.
Poached eggs are the bane of both the home cook
and the professional chef.
Everyone has their idea of what a perfectly poached egg SHOULD be.
According to my wife, this one was perfect!
My omelette was exactly as ordered and I “spiced” it up
with some bacon, potatoes and baked beans.
William, our waiter, could not have been more helpful if he tried.
Like all the staff that we interacted with, he was friendly and helpful.
The 12 Apostles has certainly got their guests’ best interests at heart
when it comes to training staff.
Well done to all concerned.

Aside from the main heated pool near the Spa,
this rock pool did look inviting

than I could count.

The hotel boasts on of the finest collections
of original works by South African artists
that I have seen outside of a gallery.
Displayed for all to enjoy, these works add to the ambiance
of the “guest experience”
It certainly makes “12” a “home-away-from-home”.
The irony of the juxtaposition of the pastries RIGHT outside the door
to the Fitness Centre had escaped the organizer of the conference taking
place on the same floor…

The Spa at The 12 Apostles is like no other I have been in.
Because of its location,it gives guests the feeling of being in a subterranean setting.

The menu was created by Executive Chef, Christo Pretorius
with assistance from the Panorama Veterinary Clinic and Specialist Centre.
They have special menus for dogs(Bark-a-licious)
and for cats( Purrfect Choice)
The former features meat, while the latter favours fish!
Dishes range in price from R65-R105.
This stunning hotel certainly lives up to the legendary reputation
that it is has built up over the years.
The well deserved accolades are testament to the consistent service excellence
and value for money packages that are on offer
While in Cape Town, I will be using a vehicle supplied by this comapny.
