Our final night in Cape Town was spent here…
And what a wonderful way to end off our stay in the Mother City
With Table Mountain a looming backdrop,
it is not easy to forget where I have woken up.
The MORE Quarters brings vibrant colours back to
this area of the city
Although the exterior of the property might reflect the heritage
of the city, inside the colours are muted and cool.
Water features abound, allowing the sound to mask
the day to day bustle from the surrounding streets.
The main lounge opposite the reception area
offers a warm fire, snacks at tea time and Port in the evening.
What more can guests want?
Our accommodation for the night was the top floor of this dove grey building
Nothing prepared us for what we were about to experience
when the door to our apartment opened…
The stair case might not suit all guests
( you can request a ground floor apartment)
What we found at the top took our breath away
(and it also caused me to send an email to the MORE offices
to find out if we could put in an offer to purchase!)
The apartment is a fully functional self catering unit.
But if guests do not feel like cooking, the hotel has a comprehensive
room service menu.
And there are a variety of restaurants within walking distance
A comfortable bed…
The bedroom can be closed off from the main part of the unit
if privacy is required.
From the small balcony, guests can look up and marvel at the
Natural Wonder that is Table Mountain
A most interesting shower/bath combination.
The bathroom has been kept compact so that the living space
can be better utilized.
A view of the mountain as it dominates the skyline
Breakfast is served upstairs in the main building
Fruits feature, although there is a full selection of Continental
and Full English breakfast menus on offer.
And the honey dominates the display…
Once breakfast is done, it will almost be time to head for the airport
and our return flight to Johannesburg.
Our Cape Town adventure is almost over…
owned by the MORE Group.
