We arrive at this MORE hotel in Cape Town.
This is one of the two “non-game-lodge” properties
that the company has in its portfolio
Old style security…
An early form of kettle bell?
I did not find a gym, so perhaps guests can train in the passage…
The main lounge area.
Although there is a reception area, guests can be checked in here.
Far more comfortable and all part of the “MORE” experience.
Even though the day was warm, there was a chill as evening approached.
Hence this welcoming fire
A corner of the reception area.
A very comfortable chair for arriving/departing guests to relax in
Fresh bread and even fresher honey on offer for breakfast!
The dining area is situated away from the main building
and overlooks the pool area
What did we discover behind the door to our room?
We did not know what to expect,
and were therefore surprised by what we encountered…
A quiet corner seating area to sit and contemplate
One of the biggest bed that we have ever slept in…
The room was FAR bigger than we had expected.
The height of the ceilings in all the rooms and public spaces,
enhances the sense of spaciousness.
It had a small private courtyard.
A bath AND a shower…
Bonus!
Many establishments often only offer one or the other.
An interesting “vase”.
And great bath products
There is a “library” on the ground floor between the lounge
and the reception area.
The staircase leads to more guest rooms
A small but adequate plunge pool.
I deal to take the edge off after a hot Cape Town day
Breakfast can be enjoyed at these tables,
if the weather plays along…
The hotel does do breakfast and afternoon snacks,
but with a plethora of restuarants in the area,
the guests are spoilt for choice.
My daughter Jayne, who lives in Cape Town, suggested that we
eat at Rick’s Cafe American.
It turned out to be a great choice!
Awesome food, great staff and a fun evening was had by all.
Jayne even ended up teaching the staff interpretive dance!
A great way to end the evening, and it is in walking distance of the hotel.
Our only regret…
We only stayed one night!
A highly recommended hotel with wonderful friendly staff.
