Taken to the MAX

This I can get used to!
For our night at MAX, my wife and I were collected in a Bentley.
I am just mentioning in case any other properties are reading this.
The Max has recently opened on Oxford Road,
not too far from Sandton City and Rosebank.
It caters for the business community,
but that does not exclude travelers who might be looking for a self-catering option
A welcome vase of flowers in a corner of
our apartment for the evening

I do like the product range that is on offer for guests.

Probably the biggest shower head I have ever stood under.
Almost like being caught in a rain storm…
except warmer.
All apartments have showers, with the exception of the
three-bedroom apartment that has a bath as well.

The main bedroom was spacious and comfortable.
It had a large screen tv as well as a ceiling fan and wall heater.
I like that combination, as all A/C units make some noise,
which disturbs my sleep
That being said, there is a unit that serves the
lounge/dining room and kitchen

The apartment that we spent the night in had a second bedroom.
There is also a garden apartment, as well as a couple of three-bedroom options

A well appointed kitchen, with all the mod cons.

The dining area…can also be used for a working area
(There is a small alcove which will suffice as a single work space)
All the rooms and public spaces have access to free high speed Wi-Fi

The lounge…it may look minimalist,
but is does have a tv and the doors lead onto an outdoor “entertainment”
area…

Guests can sit out here and enjoy a meal or a drink.
They can also walk to the pool in the garden at the far end of this patio

Part of the lobby.
The artwork in the hotel is spectacular and gives guests to the MAX
almost a feeling of being a gallery.
Pity that none of them are for sale.

Don’t feel like “fighting the traffic”,
hop on one of these to explore the surrounding suburbs.
Helmets are available at reception.

“Seconds” the on-site coffee shop,
serves breakfast as well as a variety of “all day” meals.

When last did YOU find a butter knife on a table?

Some of the decor in “Seconds” caught my attention

This is how my wife was dropped off at work!

For more on what the MAX has to offer,
visit:

Although the MAX does not offer a full dinner menu,
it does have an agreement with Sophia’s Bistro.
Situated next to the MAX, guests can either walk there
or order food to be delivered to their apartment.
We chose to visit the Bistro and had the most wonderful meal.
Sophia’s has been a round for 30 years, so they must be doing something right.
We were glad that the short walk back to the MAX allowed us to walk off
some of the meal!

Also on offer for visitors to MAX,
is a massage treatment at Enmasse.
Started in Cape Town 6 years ago,
they have been in Johannesburg for the past 3 years.
The quality of the treaments was such
that both my wife and I highly recommend a visit.
A MUST for those on business,
who wish to relax at the end of a busy and stressful day.
They are open from 08h00-22h00.
