What is it that makes guests return to this Eco friendly camp?
With the exception of the fellow on the right in the tan pants(Alex),
all the rest are my new found cousins from ‘Murrika
They could be found sitting and reading on a variety of electronic devices.
If the battery lasted…
The camp only has solar power at the staff quarters,
but overcast skies for our entire visit meant that we were unable to recharge.
But, somehow, we all survived!
And then the rains came…in copious quantities…
Could it be that this guest was headed towards…
THIS?
This is one of the camps unique features.
A pit latrine with a difference.
The grey container on the right contains water to “flush” the loo.
And, unlike most pit latrines, there is no smell at all.
How many guests have ever had to use a “donkey boiler”?
My “new” cousin Fiona was trying it out.
The boiler makes instant boiling hot water.
Then you take the water to the shower…
The chains are used to “lock” the entrance…
so other guests know it is occupied.
The “shower” lowers from the ceiling on a pulley system,
making it very easy to use.
The water is placed into the bucket, that is then raised to a comfortable height
And…
Hey Presto…a shower!
Just to prove that I was working.
In fact I had just showered, but as this is a family Blog,
I decided to put my shirt on!
Guess who the designated driver is?
I must fly…2015 awaits.
Happy New Year to you all!
