This is one of Insight Vacations signature hotels in Evora
This courtyard might not look spectacular,
but what lay behind these doors certainly was!
One of the services that Insight Vacations offers is VIP Priority luggage handling
In Lisbon, I had placed my suitcase outside my door, as instructed,
and it “magically” re-appeared in my room in Evora.
And, because tips are taken care of as part of your holiday package,
there was no outstretched palm awaiting currency.
WELL DONE!
My room…
Modern, clean, functional and a very comfortable bed
It has a balcony with a wonderful view of the roof tops of the old walled city
For the gadget “freaks”…the window blinds are electrically controlled!
How cool is THAT.
You can look from the bed into the bathroom, if you want to.
If you need privacy, there is a blind that can be rolled down
The “office” area…
And look who I found hiding amongst the foliage…
Justin the Gnome and Kwand-hare…all the way from South Africa
The bathroom has a bath and not one, but two showers!
It was raining, so I did not get to use these…
This Roman Aqueduct runs through the rear of the hotel property.
I defy any other hotel to compete with THIS feature!
I want to replicate this in our garden back home!
The hotel has a spa, fitness centre and a swimming pool.
The latter offers a spectacular view of the aqueduct.
In fact, the aforementioned aqueduct dominates the skyline to such a degree
that it can be seen from almost every window.
There are several seating areas scattered throughout the hotel
See what I meant about the aqueduct?
Photo-bombed by an ancient ruin…
Downstairs to the restaurant.
In the left had corner of this picture you can see a wheelchair lift.
The hotel is wheelchair accessible and it has an elevator
Breakfast area…
Modern seating just off the main reception area.
And upstairs on our floor.
The hotel also boasts its own orange “orchard!
I so enjoy discovering new areas…
And at least THIS photograph does NOT have the aqueduct in the background!
