East v West. An overview of my Mauritian adventure.

This is a my “purely” subjective view of my recent trip to Mauritius.
West is best?
I believe that both sides of the island have something to offer tourists.
It rained when the flight landed,
and continued to do so as we drove from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport
to the first hotel on the island’s West coast.
Getting to and from the airport as well inter hotel transfers were made possible by:

This staircase that leads from the reception area
to the main dining area is spectacular.
It set the decor tone of the whole resort.

Sugar Beach Resort…what a wonderful surprise in the daylight.
It reminded me of an old colonial plantation.
All the brochures will tell you that
“WEST IS BEST” when it comes to where to spend your time.
I am not so certain

Guests are able to rent a bicycle to explore the area.

Heading across the island…
We head East

Our accommodation at Ambre.
The East coast is cooler and windier.
December-February are the hottest months,
while June to August are the coolest.
The driest month is October.

This hotel does not allow children under 16.
All the packages they offer are “all-inclusive”.
This means that there are no surprises when it comes to check-out time.
There are “with supplement” offers that pertain to certain food and drink items.
They are clearly marked in the relevant menus.
