Wild Atlantic Way…the restuarants

With many thanks to this organization,
we were treated like “royalty” during our Wild Atlantic Way tour.
These were the restaurants/ pubs that we ate at during the week.

As my flight from Johannesburg had been delayed due to technical difficulties,
I barely made it to the hotel in time for dinner.
But what a dinner it was…and great service.
The Eden Bar and Grill, Dublin

We descended upon this eatery for lunch.
Warm welcome and wonderful food.
Burren Fine Wine and Food on Corkscrew road.
Run by Cathleen Connole, it is well worth a visit.

A magnificent sunset in Lahinch.
We had dinner down a tiny lane where we found Barrtra Seafood Restaurant.

After a lesson in how to play the Bodhran,
we had our evening meal here.

Soup and sandwiches before departing for Scattery Island.
AND a pint or two of Guinness.

And speaking of Guinness…
We dined at Finnegan’s Wine Cellar in Tralee.

They have an “old-fashioned” tea room upstairs

A few of us had “escaped” to get to this iconic pub.

Tasty pub lunch at O’Donnell’s in Cloghane.
We were eating in an art gallery above the pub
and I took the opportunity to buy a piece by one of the local artists.

Weather dependent, patrons can sit outside

Or inside where they still have a view, but are protected from the elements

The fish that we had for lunch was caught earlier that morning by members of the press.
And it was delicious.
This is Pollock, not a fish I have tasted before

Out of the Blue was where we had dinner while in Dingle.
Unfortunately, I was not feeling well and was not able to attend.
I had visited at lunch time and I knew what I was missing

This was previously a Mackerel packing factory

After a week of fish, I was VERY glad to have a burger.

From Dingle…one of the Canadian journalists said that she was going to try a hot dog.
At all the establishments we visited the staff were attentive and helpful.
Given that we were a large group, the food was served quickly and at the correct temperature.
