The total cruise distance was 2564 Nautical Miles = 4749 Km
We visited 7 ports. Starting and ending in Civitavecchia.
In between we stopped in at Santorini,
overnight in Istanbul, Kusadasi, Mykonos, Piraeus, and Naples
and we had 3 full sea days.
We learnt from our previous cruise that “the washing of the hands” is VERY important
Guests learn very quickly to get into a routine.
And to make things easier the public toilet doors are hydraulically operated.
We leave Civitavecchia to begin our Mediterranean Cruise on board Celebrity X Reflection
Let the eating begin!
One can easily gain weight if “uncontrolled” eating is what you do while on vacation.
HOWEVER, I decided that I would enjoy the food BUT would limit portion size.
The average weight gain on a cruise of this length is usually 4 kg.
Thanks to my new discipline when it comes to food,
my start and finish weight were almost identical.
Attention to detail is all around.
This is one of the light fittings in the Opus dining room
We ate most of our meals here instead of the Oceanview Cafe.
The latter offers buffet style eating and is also open until early morning.
And there is something VERY appealing about pizza at 1am!
And the gym only opens at 6am…
At the “heart” of the Reflection is a living tree!
Style, grace and elegance best describe this Solstice Class ship
Sunsets ( and sunrises) at sea are special
This was the first and last time I found the pool empty
There is an extensive library…
I took out 3 books on day 1 and never got to read a word.
My wife managed to read 4 novels
Part of Deck 14…
The Lawn Club Grill
My favourite part of Reflection
Even though the ship can carry 3030 guests and has a crew of 1250,
there are enough “quiet” places to relax in
The latest addition, The Porch, one of the specialty restaurants
Reflection has REAL lawn…
and dedicated staff to tend to it
Part of our stateroom.
We were front facing, without a balcony, but we could see where we were heading
The tongs are pointing to the sugar-free peanut butter cookies.
But, if I eat too many, I have to spend time here!
And I did…almost every day.
I was surprised how well supported it was.
Running on the deck was mindless as 1km was 5 laps…
and I knew that I would lose count if I wanted to do 5km.
Time for some relaxation?
My wife spent almost a full afternoon here.
These are available for hire.
And they come with SNACKS…
Some of the specialty restaurants and activity areas available to guests.
If you are looking for a classy “old-style” cruise,
then I highly recommend this ship.
We always use Leon as he is always early and a pleasure to deal with.
“Travel & Things” was an entrant in this competition.
