Moments in the Meander…and other places

1144

The final part of our road trip will be spent experiencing the Battlefields
using this Lodge as our base.
But before we get there some images of our trip to date…
On our final morning in the Midlands Meander,
I awoke to find frost…I was hoping for snow
It did not dissuade traders from the craft fair in Howick

Buckle up!

Look at the bigger picture?

This is one of the iconic buildings in the Howick CBD

And not too far away,
The iconic Howick Falls

A “must visit” for every South African

The new statue on the left,
and the actual capture site on the right.

My wife is always making new animal friends on our travels.

More for her to chat to?
Part of the herd Swissland Cheese

In the early morning sun…

Final shoot of the season?

Waiting to be painted and fired.
This piece can be found at Ardmore Ceramics.
The art is quirky and can be seen as a “collectible of the future”

On offer at the Augustine Ave B&B…
We could join the owners Nicky and Christo and their family for dinner…

OR

We could head into Ladysmith and try this local franchise outlet

GUESS WHICH WON?

“Ek se net dankie Christo”…
(“I just say thank you Christo”)

It has been awhile since I saw one of these so prominently displayed,
and I don’t mean the control for the AC.

Outside our front door.
Reminds me of our pond at home.

Before we leave for the Battlefields, we will take a trip around the city.
My last visit here was in 1972.
I do have a connection to Ladysmith as my godmother lived and worked here
