The Voyager of the Seas arrives at Milford Sound

1306

John Henderson arrives on board.
It is his job to make certain that we make it through all the Sounds safely.

Despite the cold and the rain, passengers flocked onto the various decks
to get a view of the spectacular scenery as we entered Milford Sound.

My wife, dressed for the weather.
At least she packed the correct clothing.
I removed my wet weather gear just before we left SA…

We rounded the corner and the Sound was revealed…

All that was missing was the Hobbits!

The cloud added a “layer”…

The general consensus among the passengers?
STUNNING…

One of the youngsters referred to the vegetation as looking like…
Brussel Sprouts…

There is only one permanent waterfall in Milford.
All the others that we saw were as a result of the recent rains.
There is a town with a hotel and a pub.

Some kayakers try out their skills in the protected waters.
This bay was discovered by accident…and I, for one, am glad that it was.
Voyager of the Seas sailed in, turned around and left.
But part of me was left behind.
