Maun back to ORT with Airlink

3652

Our transport arrives on a windy morning at Machaba Camp…
The only shade the pilot could find…

Our last glimpse of the Delta…

Many thanks to the VERY helpful Airlink ground-staff

The best airline to get you to and from Botswana…

The “International departure” lounge…
It has not changed in 13 years!
Nothing to eat or drink…
No aircon, and a ceiling fan that was not working…

I was looking forward to being back on board this Airlink flight.
Cool air, snacks and drinks awaited.

“I only want to hear ONE click”…

Time to say goodbye

Maun from the air…

The Snake River…

High above Botswana…
Although there was a lot of cloud about,
the skilled pilots were able to keep us out of the worst of it.

Airlink does offer business class…
and the food to go with that.

Happy aircrew…
or “hosties” as one of the pilots called them.
Unfortunately this food was for other passengers…not me.

Sunburnt, tired but excited and in awe of what we had seen…
Guy, in the front,
Lara, Joel(who was always smiling) and Ben.

I was lucky enough to be allowed to sit in the jump seat for the landing at ORT.

Rain and wind greeted us.
However after the heat that we had experienced at Machaba,
we were actually looking forward to getting wet.

Final checks…

Back home…
The runway at ORT…
Many thanks to the crew on this flight for making it such a pleasure.
