My recent trip to the Eastern Cape started at Prana Beach Lodge.
The weather was not really conducive to extended beach walks
as it was extremely windy while I was there.
NOT the fault of the owners!
My lounge…
I was in “Tanzanite” hence the colour of the decor
Fluffy white towels.
All part of the incredible attention to detail lavished on the guests by the owners.

Hidden in dense foliage, it felt like I was the only guest on the property.

The art work throughout the property belongs to Tim and Gail
and adds a”homely” feel to all areas, public and private.
The outdoor/indoor seating area next to the pool and bar.
More interesting art work on the walls.
There are comfy chairs in all the public spaces.
It was somewhat cold to try the pool.
Each of the rooms(with the exception of Forest) has a plunge pool
21km of pristine beach to walk along

It was time to head inland for the “wild” part of my trip.
And it does not get any wilder than this!

Guests check in here and are then taken to which ever lodge they will be spending time at.
This is my second visit to Great Fish River Lodge.

And it seems that the lodge does as well.
But THIS is why I come to the bush…

Having this enormous animal up close can be a humbling experience.
