Maropeng.I uncover some ancient comedy.

2428

I used this Canon PowerShot G15 to capture these images.
A stunning all round “compact” camera that works well in all lighting conditions.
Before leaving the Maropeng Hotel,
this was on my breakfast menu…
French toast and…
pancake with bacon and syrup…
Supposedly a Canadian breakfast.
Going, going, gone!

Maropeng spokeshominid,Harry greeted us at the entrance.
He has his own Facebook page!
www.facebook.com/harry.hominid
But Facebook is SO last Millennium that he also has a Twitter account…
@harryhominid
I did ask for an interview for an interview,
but he declined.

However, he did give me this map so that I could
enjoy all that Maropeng had to offer

The entrance to the visitors centre

Daylight…

We might be, but sometimes I wonder…

This ride takes you through the four elements that “helped” the formation of our planet.
Wind, fire, water and ice…
And no, they were NOT the ’80’s rock band!

Off into the wild blue yonder…

Fire and water…

This warning is a good thing,
Why…
Because this tunnel can make you feel all this and more.

The walkway is static and the walls of the tunnel revolve.
Scary, weird and cool all at the same time…

The first view of the exhibition hall…
If you are not surrendering your breakfast after the Vortex.

I thought that I WAS from the Order of Bats?

I am not certain if this was an ESKOM diorama in the making…
or just a warning so that visitors do not fall over the floor socket

This theory is not supported by all religious groups.

“You don’t look H.Heidelbergensis”…

A early hillbilly?

One of the interactive exhibits.

Watching a school group enjoying the exhibits was an education…

Looking back…

This had to be removed for repair…
