Medi-Clinic Heart Hospital, Pretoria.

It is on the corner of these unassuming streets in Pretoria, South Africa,
that we find this hospital…

And it is currently home to the world’s most famous patient…

Former South African President,
Nelson Mandela

Unlike the quiet outside his Houghton home,
there is still a media presence camped outside the service entrance.
This camera crew has booked their spot!

The designated press areas are not marked with the names of the TV/radio stations,
but I am certain that the entire spectrum of  world media is well represented.

This young girl stood patiently while her father took many images.

Although the sentiment here is similar to the cards etc left outside his formal residence in Johannesburg,
Here it seemed that there was more of a political overtone.

Perhaps because of the fact that these walls are seen on TV?
I was unable to find any banners from the opposition parties…

On this wall,
education seems to be the focus

The face that we all remember…

I get that he was incarcerated for 27 years,
And that his 95th will be celebrated on 18 July, 2013…
