Ichingo River Lodge, Chobe

2662

This is how we were woken!
I did not even hear the staff deliver it.

All the trees at the lodge have labels.
A great(subtle) way to help with tree identification.

The landscaped gardens of the lodge

The main reception/lounge/bar area.

With hippo and crocodiles in the river,
their swimming pool is a safer option.

Our accommodation.
it might not look “spectacular” from the exterior,
but the interior was a different story

Just to prove that we had settled in!

The lodge runs of generator power that is only available certain times of the day.
However, the bathroom offers a solar backup so that you do not have to ablute in the dark

The bedside lights are also solar powered.

From the outside looking in…
Apologies for the fact that the bed has not been made up.

Our next door neighbour…

A Giant Kingfisher.

This is how guests/ goods etc are transported.

This Little Egret was looking for breakfast.

The river and lodge foliage reflected in the dining room windows.

“Our” deck as seen from the main building.
Thanks to Ralph, Dawn and all their staff for making our brief stay special.

We left Ichingo Chobe River Lodge to spend four days on this!
