Another day on the Chobe River.

Aside from game viewing, fishing is an option…

Never having fished before, I thought that it might be a good idea to give it a try…
My guide, David, making certain that the tender boat is checked and ready to go…

This was the spot that my guide, David, suggested might be a good place to try…
Did I catch anything?

I caught this bush more than once!

I tried casting near this log, but with NO success…
These guys caught a Bream shortly after arriving at the spot I had recently vacated.

I was having more luck spotting game than catching fish…
This Buffalo herd was about 2000 strong!

From the river, I could get really close.

NOT photo shopped…
This Elephant had tusks facing in opposite directions.

I last saw a Sable antelope in 1966!

The baboon was so intend on checking the dung for undigested food,
that it took no notice of the Elephants at all.

An African Openbill coming in to land!

After watching a herd of 2000,
a lone buffalo sort of pales by comparison.

A Little Egret…

Sunset on the Chobe…

Giraffe and Elephants on the horizon…

A face that ONLY a mother can love…
Pumba.

AND HERE IS THE PROOF…

Off my very first cast…
A 4kg catfish…after that…
NOTHING!
But it put up a “small” fight and it did get my adrenalin pumping.
Between this and the HUGE buffalo herd, it was a really great day.
