How many 60-year olds get greeted at their party by a Giraffe?
Thoughts on how to stay young…
1.Throw out nonessential numbers.
These include but are not limited to;
age, height and weight.
One of my favourite views.
The Franz Richter Dam on Lake Heritage.
2. Enjoy the simple things.
The “Official” birthday photograph.
3. Surround yourself with what you love.
Family, pets,souvenirs,plants, hobbies.
Happiness is a wonderful wife…
4. Tell the people you love that you love them…
often!
My Heia family…
Started off small but has grown over the years.
Together we have shared laughter and tears.
We have been there for each other for many decades
and hopefully will be for many more to come
5. Tears happen.
Endure, grieve and move on.
The only person who is with us our entire life,
is ourselves!
Be ALIVE.
I wish I could remember what was so funny…
6. Laugh!
Often,long and loud.
Laugh till you gasp for breath.
I was so glad that my sister, Debbie, was able to attend.
We don’t see nearly enough of each other.
Many thanks for being with me on this special occasion.
Debbie, Jayne, Carolyn and me…
7. Don’t take guilt trips!
Music icon, Larry Amos, fought tooth pain to try to play for me.
Pain 1. Music 0
Old age already?
8. Cherish your health.
If it is good, preserve it.
If it is unstable, improve it
If it is beyond what you can do…seek help.
My father-in-law, Dov Fedler, called me a bounder in a public place.
Turns out that he was referring to one of these…
A Jackalope…
Bounds into peoples lives to make them happy 🙂
9. Keep learning.
Try to learn something new every day.
My wife thought the analogy was funny…
And, actually, so did I!
10. Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take,
BUT by the moments that take our breath away.
Time to kill a cake…
and yes, the tattoo on my arm is real.
I have killed a cake,
the hunt is over,
I can go and lie down…
or enjoy the spoils of the hunt!
Many thanks to Caro, Gaby, Jayne for making this a special day.
Many people suffer from Coulrophobia…a fear of Clowns.
For the past 59 years, I have suffered from a fear of my own birthday party.
This day swept all those fears away!
