Kigali Serena, the name says it all.

Thanks to Abou for taking this to prove that I was actually working!

On our way to Lake Kivu Serena, we stopped here for lunch.

But we returned here to see out the last part of the trip…
In my case an extended stay thanks to the Serena Country Manager.

The reception area is spectacular…
even if the guests look somewhat bored.

The dining room, where I spent TOO much time.
Great food and attentive staff.

The view from the balcony of the dining area.

A sparkling pool on a hot day…

Decoration in the conference centre of the hotel

The accommodation wings form a semi circle around the pool area.
Some of the rooms have individual balconies.

And if your accommodation lacks an outside area,
guests are able to come and sit here.

The imposing building reaches for the Rwanda skyline.

The conference centre has a large auditorium as well as smaller conference rooms.
There is also the opportunity to hold events outside on the lawns or in the private car park.

Running water to keep guests/conference delegates calm?

A view of the rooms with balconies…

Another view of the conference centre

Of all the flora I had discovered on this trip,
this is one species I recognised.

My accommodation…
A good size working area…
The desk also has a fold down mirror that can be used with the supplied hair dryer.

A lounge area in front of the bathroom makes a great entertainment area.
Especially seeing that this is a business hotel
and meetings might continue after hours

A very comfortable bed…
These rooms over look a car park and not the pool.

My favourite view…
Looking down into the atrium from the fourth floor.
