My arrival at Lelapa Lodge, Madikwe Safari Lodge

3382

Welcome to Lelapa Lodge.
It means “Family”in Tswana and is one part
of the three lodges that make up Madikwe Safari Lodge

The entrance.

The recently refurbished main public area…

The bar area that also has a large screen TV to keep the children(and adults) entertained.

Some of the interesting decor.

The dining area forms part of the public space

Note the “kiddie friendly” plastic glass and plate

The lunch menu…unlike some lodges,
Lelapa serves three meals a day

the view from “my” table

A busy Southern Masked Weaver

Some of the decor in the bar

My favourite part of the lodge…

Blankets to keep the chill away

For all the Toyota owners!

‘Hello there’

Part of the cookie making activity that was laid on for the younger guests

Mini Master chefs?

Clap hands…

This design looked like a dinosaur,
but I might be wrong.

Mmmmmm, a tough day in the kitchen?
A woman’s work is never done?
I forgot to ask them to save a cookie for me.
Lelapa is specifically designed with the younger folk in mind.
There are activities to keep them occupied
and staff to allow Mom and Dad to enjoy game drives without little voices asking:
“Why”…constantly
Madikwe Game Reserve is Malaria free!
Great news, especially for families with children.

This property was recently acquired by the More Group and is currently undergoing an extensive makeover.
That being said, the work is being carried out with minimal interruption to the daily guest activities.
Congratulations to Jeremy Clayton(GM) and his staff on a job well done.
