Lunch on ilot Magenie…Le Touessrok

I hope that they are not fishing for our lunch…

A view from my table at ilot Mangenie
Al fresco dining with a view…

Not on the menu…

Photograph of a photographer…

Lifestyle of the rich and perhaps not so famous?

The decor looks like a sail in the wind…

Starters…
The bread was great for attracting the birds…

Indian Minors…
one of the 119 bird species found on Mauritius…

Village Weaver…

Mauritius Foday…

“Oi, are you taking my picture”?

Another Foday…

Sparrow…

And in between the birds,
my lunch arrived!
They told me it was prawns…
Biggest and tasteist I have had in a long while
Merci, Chef Pierre…

The crested version of a Tourterelle?
Nope, just a regular Common Indian Dove fighting the wind.

This was first prize for me, as these birds were very skittish.

This is a Red-whiskered Bulbul…

The arrival and departure point at the hotel

And there has to be ONE flower!

Even though travel is “work”for me,
there is always a moment of sadness as I bid farewell to a destination.
And Mauritius is no different!
I have met some wonderful people and made some new friends…
and there is always the possibility of my returning to the island…
This time WITH my wife!
Au revoir et merci pour cette merveilleuse visite
