La Pirogue, first impressions

2089

With my body still in the South African time zone, I was up before sunrise…

The water is less than 50 paces from my front door!
I could get used to this…

I had no idea that there were “mountains”on Mauritius

I believe that there might be rain on the way

“I must go down to the sea again…”

Deep sea fishing is just one of the water sports available to guests at La Pirogue

I have a feeling these guys were heading off to “work”…

WELCOME!

The airport is named after this President.
La Pirogue has undergone several major refurbishments since it was first opened in 1976

An interesting mixture of architectural styles?
Jo Van Mellick, a Dutch architect, designed the original concept

Look up…

This is first time I have seen a Frangipani flower in this colour

The spectacular view from the infinity pool

Breakfast, the healthy option…

Plenty of fresh fruit on offer.

Luckily, not all the guests dress like this

REAL BREAKFAST…

I did take a walk between courses to check out the reception area

THIS WAS FOR RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY!

Time to see what lies in store for me for the rest of today…
