The Big 5 on a Mosetlha Bush Camp drive

1439

Jonny,our ranger, jumping for joy.
Why?
Because he found us the “Big 5″…

Even though it was hot, both morning and afternoon game drives provided interesting viewing…
Not actually one of the “Big 5”,
but a firm favourite with both local and international visitors

First up, the Lion…

This particular male knew he was good looking

Spray marking his territory.
We found this female on our first night drive!

We found her again on a morning drive, walking down the road.

Luckily for us, she decided to stop and “pose”…

This young Elephant decided to show us who was boss…

But only with this as back-up!

A later afternoon drink…

Probably the most dangerous animal on the African continent.
The African Buffalo

Not a cow…

but a cow(or in this case, bull) with ATTITUDE!

White Rhino…

“What are you”?

Not worth a second glance…
I now understand why international tourists always want to see the “Big 5” on the first game drive.
Most of them have saved up for a long time…
They might never have the opportunity to return to Africa…
It is often on a “bucket list”…
I,on the other-hand, go to the reserves with no expectations…
Why?
Because I can always return…

I still believe that the Spotted Hyena should have a place…
in the Top 20!

I might not be on of the “Big 5″…
but I am the most photographed…
