Lion around…

Off on an early morning game drive…

Sabi Sands… 

If you have never been next to a lion as it starts vocalizing, you have not lived.Our game drive vehicle was vibrating.

The business end… 

“What big teeth I have”! 

“Did you see”? 

“NO? I will show you again”. 

This lioness and her cub were having fun… 

or at least the cub was… 

“When I grow up”… 

“ENOUGH ALREADY” 

We spent several hours searching for these cubs and their moms… 

we spent some time watching their antics… 

this image, in retrospect, almost foretold their fate… 

I learned from friends that all of these cubs were killed when new males moved into the territory 

Sad, but that is nature… 

It takes emotion out of the equation and only the strongest survive.
