Madikwe Hills…Luxury under African skies

On my previous visit to Madikwe Hills, the signage was is need of replacing…and it has been done!

All the steps that link the suites with the main building are to help with digestion…

Our first game sighting! From the deck outside the main building

Meals can be enjoyed al fresco if the weather is suitable

There a numerous areas tucked away within the main lounge to offer guests some peace and quiet.

Like this corner in the library

A view of the main building from the deck

This is the communal pool that overlooks a waterhole.

Lunch tends to be light as the dinner is substantial.

Wood and stone are the predominant building materials.

Sunrise from our bathroom deck

Our suite had both and outside bath as well as a shower.

Steps from the dressing room/bedroom lead up to an enormous bathroom

See what I mean…

And a bed in a game lodge that did not have a mosquito net would not really be the same.

Each suite has a splash pool…very useful for a hot summer day

The decor has been chosen with a good eye

Our lounge that was bigger than my first apartment (well, almost)

Time to do what I came here for…game drives!

And look what we found…
Madikwe Hills is situated in the Madikwe Game Reserve in the North West Province. 75000 hectares of prime game viewing, malaria free and containing the Big 5.
The reserve is also home to cheetah and Wild Dog!
The reserve is about a four hour drive from either Johannesburg or Pretoria.
We had a wonderful time and left with many happy memories.
Our thanks to Hannes and his team.
