And the leaves that were green turn to brown…

And the leaves that were green turn to brown...

I was so excited to find this group of Rose necked Parakeets in our garden.
Not indigenous to South Africa I have to assume that
they are a feral flock that live in our area

“Time hurries on.
And the leaves that are green turn to brown,
And they wither with the wind,
And they crumble in your hand”.
Lyrics by Simon and Garfunkel

Why do people want the leaves to be cleared away?

They are part of the colours of Autumn and as such need to be shared and enjoyed, not bagged and binned.

There is still some colour left in our garden…

Glowing in the fading afternoon sunlight…

Even though dried and withered, there are seeds that promise new life for the next season

My wife making “leaf angels”….seeing we do not have any snow.

 Contemplation…

Joy! Nothing like playing in a pile of leaves…

 “Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello,
Good-bye, Good-bye, Good-bye, Good-bye,
That’s all there is.
And the leaves that are green turned to brown”.
Lyrics by Simon and Garfunkel

The Common Ash tree in our garden shedding its summer green for autumn brown…
