After an incident at O.R.T international airport with delayed transport from the long term parking(totally our fault),we made certain that we arrived at the terminal with plenty of time to spare. We made it before the check-in counters opened.
But first some food/coffee to keep us going for the next few hours while we wait for our designated departure time.
Passport control was chaos.Much like a supermarket/bank at month end/beginning,there were only 7 out of 18 gates open.
Late arrivals kept pushing through the queue to try and bypass those of us who where on time. The staff that were on duty were not in the least helpful and as the backup got longer, tempers became frayed.I hate to think about what transpired after we left.
What is a “slow lounge”? Perhaps this is where the passport control staff hang out? I did not see any signs for a “fast lounge”…
I found out that pilots that had recently flown me to Madikwe were going to fly us to Vilanculos. Andre on the left and Robert on the right
Time to board…and the long drive to our plane. It was parked so far from the terminal that I was beginning to think we were going to drive all the way to Vilankulo. Federal Air, My favourite charter air company.
Knowing the pilots did not mean that we were going to get any special attention…there was no business class upgrade available on this small aircraft
Not quite an A380,however…
Time to “saddle up and ride”…
All aboard…and with snack packs and drinks supplied.
Time to take to the skies…
We had a quick stop over at Kruger international airport to pick up a couple of passengers (approximate flying time 40mins)
Once more co-pilot Robert make sure all was safe and secure before we left on the last part of outward bound leg.(approximate flying time 75mins)
We arrive at Vilankulo International airport…
The airport is modern and bright and the staff were most helpful
Our “home” for the next couple of days…Vilanculos Beach Lodge
