Larry Amos...the legend returns!

He is back! One of South Africa’s best blues musicians has hit the stage again!

Larry is currently performing at The Corner House in Olivedale on Sundays from 2-6pm…and it is well worth a visit. He has been part of the Larry Amos Blues Project, Larry Amos and the Naughty Boys as well as Baxstop, but this time he is going solo…

While birds enjoy a meal in the balmy afternoon sunshine, Larry makes magic on the small porch that has been converted into a stage…

The first hour of his set is acoustic and will certainly get  the feet tapping…and when he does the Dylan covers, you will realize(like I did) that you remember all the lyrics to obscure folk songs…

Larry has been on a hiatus for the last 5 years and he is on his way back to main stream performances…or I certainly hope so!

As a performer, he must rate as one of South Africa’s top singer/songwriters…but unless you have followed his career, it is very possible that you will not have heard of him!
First famous as front man and composer of all Baxtop songs, his Jo Bangles reached No1 on the SA hit parade as did Night Time Train and Take Me Into Your Heart.

The enthusiastic audience that was there when I was certainly enjoyed his performance…with many of them coming to chat with Larry between sets.

Larry doing what he does best…performing…this audience member just had to get up close…

no blog on a guitarist would be complete without this shot…

With a great voice for either rock, blues or folk, it is great to have Larry back again!

so pencil it in your diary…The Corner House on Sundays…

His rock set was stunning and I really did not want to leave!

if you like his music, ask about the Cd’s he has for sale…a must for your collection…

A guaranteed foot tapping afternoon…and the venue is licenced and serves an awesome Pizza…

The venue is on the corner of Witkoppen and Church St. in Olivedale…you can also find Larry on Facebook
