Heia Safari Ranch is our home-away-from-home…I have been visiting the property since 1976 and have been witness to the many changes that this wonderful refuge has undergone…
As the sun set over the pool at Heia Safari Ranch, this Zebra decided to bask in the dying rays of the warm Spring sunshine
The last time I was at Heia, there were no leaves on this Acacia…it is interesting how quickly nature is able to change the colours of a landscape…and even something as “ordinary” as the this thorny branch
Another Zebra was doing what the herd at Heia enjoys…drinking from the swimming pool!
These two young male Impala were slowly making their way to some food when I took this shot…for me,black and white offers an extra depth to images. These two are part of a larger herd that can be found at Heia.
In the dying daylight, these Wildebeeste were making their way to a feeding area…
Moving quickly, they almost blend into the background in this image…
The property is home to a family of Giraffe and it has come to a point where father and son are fighting for breeding dominance…
While they fought, the youngest member of the family,Little Lady, made a hasty exit…
Lake Heritage is being cleared of dead trees and it reminded me of the swamps in Florida,USA…except much cleaner and with no Aligators!
Reflections in the last rays of sunlight…This part of Lake Heritage is very special to me, as it was here in 2007 that my wife and I were married!
