And so the new part of the journey begins…
These bowls have been selling very well out of a shop in Linden…
And remember,if it is not signed “Caro’s Cats” and stamped…it is not an original
On Tuesday,September 06, 2011 Caro’s Cats fired up their own kiln! Ceramicist Caro together with her pottery teacher Denise packed the kiln and flipped the switch that started a new chapter in this talented artist’s career… all together now…
The pieces fit in like a jigsaw puzzle…a great mental exercise to work out how to get the maximum number of pieces in!
all the bits ‘n pieces waiting to be utilized…
“Yes, I think I can find room for this”…
Caro watches as Denise shows her how it is done…
packed to capacity…
this old door has become the surface on which the pieces come to life…
all packed and ready to go…this entire order has already been pre-sold as Christmas gifts!
Denise turns on the kiln for the first time…
I am sure this meter will be spinning like a top…but all for a good cause…so if there is load-shedding in Jhb, please do not blame us!
the first firing is left to reach temperature…
First firing complete…not a single broken bowl! Next step is the glazing…
and this is the end result…
Please support this ceramicist so that she can afford a new pair of pants 🙂
