Time to stop “monkeying” around and take a walk(or a drive) on the wild side!
Staying in game lodges that have all the usual amenities,might be seen as Eco-unfriendly…however all that can be rectified with a trip to this wonderful camp!
Hot water comes from this rustic but highly efficient ‘donkey’ boiler and then used in the showers that are equally eco-friendly
The shower process is designed to compliment the nature of the camp
First take a bucket of water from this tank…
and heat in the donkey boiler…
Make sure that the chain is across the entrance so that you are not surprised by other guests or staff…
A bucket on the end of a rope and pulley system serves as the shower and guests will find that all it requires is one bucket of water…
The toilet is equally ingenious…although it is a ‘long drop’ it most certainly is the VIP version…once again, make sure that the chain is in place before settling in!
With no electricity, evening meals are lit by firelight and paraffin lamps that are dotted all over the camp site…they are also a source of illumination inside the cabins…
And speaking of cabins…
 Although the accommodation might seem rustic, they are functional and very comfortable. Each cabin sleeps 2 people, however there are interlinking cabins that can be used for families.
The bird-life in the camp is varied and guests don’t even have to leave the comfort of the lapa in order to get good images…

But as the camp is situated in a “Big 5” Malaria free reserve, game drives are a must
Or, if you stop in the right place, the game will come and find you!
 End off your game drive with a traditional “bok-drol spoeg competisie” (the literal translation is a buck dropping spitting competition)
