We arrived at Melton Manor on a clear winter’s morning and ready to try out their new winter program as well as the new winter game drive suits they had been telling me about
My wife feels the cold even in summer and she was only too keen to put the suit on and model it in front of the camera!
The suit fits like a sleeping bag with the bottom cut off and it comes with mittens and a hoodie.Not quite warm enough to allow you wear shorts and a t-shirt underneath, it does offer protection against the wind.It also means that you can dispense with the “blanket over the knees” that invariably let’s in the cold air when you least expect it…
Our room was awesome with both aircon and underfloor heating…
And a view from the bath that was spectacular…
A new addition was this little extra,containing amongst other things,weights, a skipping rope and an instruction brochure…no excuse not to do a morning exercise session now!
With a bit of luck we will not be needing these during the course of our visit.
For those guests brave enough to tackle the cold pool water, there is one at the bottom of the property…clear and sparkling, but refreshingly cold!
There is an open plan kitchen that leads off the dining room…but the real engine room is behind the closed door on the left hand side of the picture…
This area can also be used by the younger guests to help the chef prepare a tasty treat…in this case Megan was making butter cookies which we had with our tea…thank you Megan…
Another &Beyond ‘touch’ is the use of old trophies as sugar bowls…an innovative and novel idea.
