Temples and tombs...places of interest and introspection in Hue

This is the entrance to the tomb of King Minh Mang…this entrance gate belies the fact that the actual tomb is extremely ornate…

 

 

The frangiapani flowers seemed to follow me round all day…

Lots of water with exquisite views…when I go I want to have a view like this!

 

The second tomb we visited was that of King Tu Duc…104 wives, many concubines and NO offspring (turns out the poor chap was impotent!)

 

 

A much more modest tomb…

 

Our penultimate visit of the day was to the Thien Mu pagoda on the banks of the Perfumed River.

Again with the blossom…it was like this when I got here…

The red sticks are the remnants of incense that are burned at every place of worship…

 

 

The final resting place of this iconic car…

Our final visit of the day was to the Imperial Citadel…images cannot do justice to this impressive walled city…but I will try…
